I can already tell. My closet is going to make me cry.

This is simply personal documentation to mark what will be a bedroom redecoration.  This started with sheer boredom and frustration with clutter.  Honestly, if I just dealt with the clutter much would be improved.  I do want to use this as an opportunity to play with color though.  When I spend time on Pinterest I find myself being inspired by bedrooms and furnishings with bright colors and a distinct bohemian style.  I haven't had the guts to make bold design choices like that but would like to try my hand at it.

What I am starting with:
  • 1 antique wrought iron bed (painted white and rusted through)
  • Solid cream-colored Anthropologie bedding
  • 1 antique dresser from the 1940's with the original paint (in a yellow-gold color)
  • 1 bedside table with a gross fleur de lis stencil recently acquired at a garage sale for $5
  • 1 unattractive rug
  • 2 lamps (one black and one white)
  • 0 curtains
  • 1 very small room with a smallish closet
  • A virtual crap-ton of scrap yarn from my knitting and crocheting projects in various fibers, colors and weights.
  • Junk everywhere.
  • VERY LITTLE MONEY

The rules:
My budget is $250.
If I sell anything from the mess that is my personal living space, those funds can be added to the pot.

I've been such a ridiculous hoarder up to now, I should be able to shop my stash and refinish or reclaim to get what I need.  My goal is to keep my expenses low and to get rid of extra, pointless stuff that is just creating clutter and stressing me out.

Plan to follow (and sad-face making before photos to follow as well.)
